With recent EV developments in Singapore, the number of Electric Vehicles is raising at a fast rate. Even with more EV Charging stations, popular EV charging stations are fully packed.
I wasn’t expecting Ikea to start charging for EV charging so soon but here we are! Before the new year (2023), we now have paid EV charging at both Ikea locations in Singapore. Boohoo is the word but because it’s paid, I could easily get a good parking location to charge my car now. Recently fewer people are using these chargers because they are paid and I’ve got more opportunities to charge the car now!
Now surprisingly the charging app Ikea uses is quite friendly, I’ll speak about charging station systems that aren’t friendly in this post. I’ll show you how easy it is to use it for the first time in this video below.
With SUTD to follow suit, it seems to be impossible to easily find free charging in Singapore. Maybe the only way is if you have a friend to charge at their home but that is also not a free charger, your friend is paying for it. In this next post, I’ll show you a truly free charger in Singapore! Currently (20th Jan 2024), we have 2 chargers that I know are completely free! One is in Marina Bay Sands and the other is at Jurong Point Mall.
