With growing electricity prices, P.UP is going to change its pricing structure. This spells bad news for EVs that rely on public chargers.

P.UP Pricing Plans

Most would argue that having an electric car will save you money and time but most will not tell you that public charging prices will go up as demand increases. If you are considering buying your electric vehicle but do not have a home charger, you are highly welcome to join me! However, do note that you are highly reliant on public infrastructure, I would strongly consider getting a home charger or you have to resort to finding a more resourceful solution to your charging requirements.

Singapore could be a good place to rely on public chargers and I am that guy who does not even have a public charger at my home so I am taking a gamble on this working out. With my current situation, I believe I definitely have to purchase such a plan for myself. Being reliant on public chargers alone is not enough.

I would even say that you cannot rely on this mobile charger service as they do break down too and they may not be available to accommodate your timing to charge the vehicle. Just think of it as a backup plan to charge your vehicle or like having multiple petrol companies so that if one company goes bust, you still have another station to “fill up”.
