Have you noticed a trend in the chargers you walk up to in Singapore? There is a pattern emerging and I would like to address them. In Singapore, the government is going towards a way to quickly charge your vehicle and having fast chargers is their “motivation” but think about this!

Would you want to walk back to your car to move your car while you are eating your dinner? You would like to ideally leave it charging slowly at the lot while you do your shopping and only like to come back to the car after 2-3 hours.

On the other hand, at charging stations that are located at petrol kiosks, I realize the opposite where taxi and goods delivery drivers would like to have fast chargers as they drive long distances and only have an hour during meal times to charge their vehicles. I believe understanding the different use of fast and slow chargers and implementing it correctly would be ideal in Singapore.

With more chargers coming in years to come, is it a good time to purchase an EV without a home charger? ~ To answer that question, you would need to understand your charging requirements because there are getting more EVs on the road even if there are more public chargers in Singapore. It is difficult to have enough public chargers for everyone, I would lean towards having a home public charger instead of relying on destination chargers.
