On this day, some of SP’s chargers experienced a glitch and was showing that the charger was not available when it was clearly available. I was those unluckily to arrive during this hour when I really needed this charging session as I was at 1% battery, as I always am.
Fortunately I was able to call the mobile charger to charge my vehicle and they were available to give me a short charging session thanks to the plan I subscribed with P-UP. They do not do emergency charging session but do help out a lot in this area if they are available.
This resulted in a interesting situation with my vehicle being charged by a mobile charger at a EV charging station. After an hour or so the service was back online and SP apologised for the issue that night but did not compensate in anyway. I believe this will be a frequent occurrence as more EV charging stations are built and require regular maintenance. Being reliant on public charging infrastructure is one that you will need to think through before purchasing an electric car / vehicle.
Being unable to start charging at SP’s charger @ Galaxis does remind me that being reliant in the EV charging infrastructure is relatively better than being reliant on the fossil fuels being sold to your car to some extent.
